Sweden EU Blue Card salary threshold updated

The EU Blue Card salary threshold increased to SEK 53,625 per month. The threshold equals 1.25 times the average Swedish gross salary published by the National Mediation Office and applies from July 15, 2026.

Sweden work permit salary threshold updated

June 16, 2026

SCB updated the Swedish median salary to SEK 38,300. For applications submitted from June 16, the general 90% work permit threshold is SEK 34,470 per month, with a 75% exemption floor of SEK 28,725. The separate EU Blue Card threshold was not part of this work permit update.

Sweden work permit salary rule verified

From June 1, 2026, Sweden applies a work permit salary requirement of at least 90% of the median salary at the time of application. At the then-current median salary of SEK 37,100, that was SEK 33,390 per month. The EU Blue Card salary threshold was tracked separately.
